Destiny 2 Faction Rally

Bungie has finally revealed and dated the Faction Rally for Destiny 2. It starts on September 26th, 2 AM PST and ends on October 3rd, 2 AM PST. What is the Faction Rally? Well, as discussed in the latest weekly update, the three major factions from the first game – namely Future War Cult, New Monarchy and Dead Orbit – will be returning to hawk their wares.

They won’t have traditional vendor gear though. Players will essentially gather resources for their faction of choice and earn packages. The faction with the most packages is essentially the winner of this event and everyone will earn a special weapon associated with that faction. The catch is that those who helped the faction will get it for 1,000 Glimmer. Everyone else? They have to spend a whopping 50,000 Glimmer.

Of course, you can also earn gear and weapons from the faction of choice by collecting Tokens during the event and earning packages. Hilariously enough, many of the faction items are essentially reskins of current Destiny 2 gear.

While this has been Bungie’s way of introducing new content for a while now, not many players were expecting to see recycled weapons and gear so soon into the game’s life-cycle.

What are your thoughts on the Faction Rally though? Let us know in the comments below.
