The Guardian Games are underway in Bungie’s Destiny 2, allowing Titans, Warlocks and Hunters to compete against each other to see who’s the best. It ends on May 23rd, so imagine the confusion of players when an in-game message proudly proclaimed that Warlocks had won.
Players were invited to the Tower for the Closing Ceremony, which, as you probably guessed, didn’t happen. Bungie Help on Twitter confirmed that the message was “erroneously” sent. “Guardian Games still have two weeks left, and the winning class has not been officially announced yet.”
Some could proclaim that “the fix is in,” and the results are a foregone conclusion. Everyone else can continue grinding for Medallions and maybe get a good roll on The Title and Taraxippos, the latter being the first Strand Legendary scout rifle. Either way, it’s still any class’s competition to lose.
On the same day that Guardian Games ends, Season of the Deep will go live. It adds new story content that seemingly returns to Titan, a new Season Pass (with prices increasing for the same) and new armor. Exotic Armor Focusing will also be a new feature to help get better rolls on unlocked Exotic gear. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
We're aware that an in-game message announcing the winner of Guardian Games was sent out erroneously.
