If Destiny 2’s Expansion Pass being free with the purchase of Forsaken, The Dreaming City entering the third week of its cycle, and Festival of the Lost weren’t enough for next week, then Lord Saladin will also keep you plenty busy. Iron Banner returns on October 16th, and will last until October 23rd. However, the PvP event’s bounties and rewards will be different this time around.

The follow are the changes being made to bounties:

  • Lightbearer: Reduced Super kills to 20 from 25
  • Iron in the Blood: Reduced match completions to 15 from 30
  • Shine On: Reduced Orbs generated to 50 from 100
  • Iron Victory: Reduced match wins to 7 from 10
  • To Be Precise: Reduced precision kills to 50 from 100
  • All in a Week’s Work: Reduced kills to 150 from 250

All of these will unlock powerful rewards, so the tradition of Iron Banner being a path to higher Power levels returns. Each bounty completed will unlock a new item from Saladin’s inventory for you to purchase directly. Furthermore, these items have curated rolls, so you can work towards adding some fabulous weapons to your arsenal.

Beware though – Power advantages have been re-enabled in Iron Banner, which means higher Power level players will deal more damage and receive less damage from lower Power players.

Finally, if all of the above still isn’t enough, then Valor gains will be doubled for the entirety of Iron Banner. Triple Valor will also be active from October 19th to October 23rd, providing a way to earn Masterwork Cores. When will Masterwork Cores drop more often? That remains to be seen, but Bungie is working on it (along with buffing Exotic drop rates).
