Destiny 2 is receiving a massive new infusion of content next week with the launch of Lightfall and Season of Defiance. Lots of quality-of-life features are also inbound, including the long-awaited loadouts. These allow players to create a build of their favorite gear, weapons, mods and cosmetics and save it to a template.
Several loadouts can be prepared in this fashion and switched to at any time. Bungie recently told PC Gamer that switching between loadouts should be “comparable to the time it takes to swap a single piece of equipment on your character screen.” It’s faster than Destiny Item Manager (DIM), a third-party website that players have used to transfer gear and create loadouts for years.
It also lets you switch during an activity (DIM doesn’t allow for this currently). However, activities which lock your gear won’t allow this, so keep that in mind.
Destiny 2: Lightfall is out on February 28th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Check out Bungie’s ViDoc here, which goes over Strand, new weapons, the city of Neomuna, and much more.
