As per Activision’s fourth quarter and year end financial report, Destiny 2 is on track for release in late 2017.

The publisher said, “Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.”

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg further noted that the game is “going great” and that the company is “very excited.”

Destiny 2 will feature many of the same things that fans loved (which features specifically were not mentioned) but will look to be more accessible to your average player. Many are assuming this to be more to do with the best content no longer being limited to raids or other LFG-heavy activities.

It was also revealed that Destiny 2 would focus on a “great cinematic story” with a “cast of memorable, relatable characters”. How many of the current roster survives going forward wasn’t revealed.

Destiny 2 is slated to arrive for PS4, Xbox One and PC. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.
