Destiny 2 (10)

Bungie revealed a number of different changes coming to Destiny 2 in the coming weeks via its State of the Game blog post. On December 12th, the developer will be rolling out Masterwork weapons. These serve to track the number of kills and generate Orbs of Light as you score multiple kills. They’ll also have stat bonuses that can be re-rolled but these aren’t additional perks.

If you dismantle a Masterwork, you can use its resource to convert another Legendary weapon to a Masterwork. With raids and Trials of the Nine weapons having a chance to be Masterworks, there’s more incentive to do those activities.

Xur will also receive an update with Fated Engrams that can be purchased once per week for Legendary Shards. These contain Engrams that you don’t already have. Three of Coins is also returning and they’ll boost Exotic drop rates for four hours in exchange for Legendary Shards. Finally, players will be able to purchase gear from vendors with Legendary Shards and Tokens. It will apply to “most” vendors and offers a different selection of weapons but only one piece of armour per rotation.

More vendor slots will be available from ranking up and earning engrams though we still need more information on what that means. Again, these changes (and a lot more) will roll out on December 12th so stay tuned.
