Destiny 2 Releasing in 2017, “Large New” Expansion Coming in 2016

Rejoice.

Destiny

Praise the sun, Destiny fans – a “large new” expansion for the shared world shooter is out this year according to Activision’s 2015 fiscal report. It also stated that a sequel to Destiny would be out next year.

This seems pretty much in line with reports of the next major content drop happening in Fall 2016 while Destiny 2 is pushed to next year. Bungie has been mostly silent about either and has only announced an event presenting the most significant content update since The Taken King for Spring 2016. If the scale of Crimson Days, compared to Festival of the Lost before it released, is any indication then it’s better to take these claims with a grain of salt.

Regardless, Destiny is indeed real and inbound so get that hype train rolling and all those suggestions coming. What are your thoughts on the news? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information in the coming months about further content updates and the “large” expansion.
