Destiny 2 - Season of the Worthy

Destiny 2’s Season of the Worthy kicks off today as players work with AI Warmind Rasputin to stop the Red Legion’s Almighty from destroying the Last City. New gear and rewards will be available throughout the season but players will also have more avenues to power up. In the latest This Week at Bungie, it was revealed that the Powerful Gear cap would be raised to 1000 with Pinnacle Gear cap being 1010.

“Gear drops from nearly all sources will continue to be upgrades until 950 Power, and powerful reward sources will not be required to progress to 950,” the developer said. However, perhaps even better is the fact that certain activities like Weekly Crucible, Strike and Gambit challenges, will be upgraded from Powerful to Pinnacle Gear. “With this change, we want to increase the total number of pinnacle power sources in the game, broaden pinnacle drop access, as well as increase the pools of items that can drop in the pinnacle band.”

However, there is some bad news. Artifact Power was stated to be disabled for Trials of Osiris after outcry from the community. This won’t be the case for the first weekend of the PvP activity, due to the patch already being sent for certification. “We have the fix in-house to disable it and are testing it this week, and hope to deploy it on Tuesday, March 17. We really wish we could have gotten it in for the launch weekend, but we also expect the first Trials weekend to be the one impacted by the Artifact the least. Players will have much less time to increase their Artifact Power, so the majority will be close to each other outside of Pinnacle drops.”

As for the patch to cap Power for Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner, it’s slated to arrive mid-season though no release date has been determined yet. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
