Destiny 2: The Final Shape – How to Reach 2000 Power Quickly

Despite all the new activities and changed reward structures, reaching the Pinnacle cap is less daunting than it seems. Here's how to do it.

Power doesn’t quite mean the same in Destiny 2: The Final Shape as before. Some activities have Power Disabled, which means your level isn’t accounted for. However, for the ones it’s on, it can default to whoever in your party is the highest (minus five). Nevertheless, when soloing Legendary Lost Sectors or participating in Grandmaster Nightfalls, it’s generally a good idea to get it as high as possible to do the most.

How do you raise your Power Level and reach the Pinnacle Cap? It’s quite easy, as it turns out. Check out our tips below.

How to Reach 2000 Power Quickly

Finish the Legendary Campaign

The Legendary Campaign is pretty challenging, especially the final encounter. Nevertheless, completing it gives a full set of 1960 Power armor. That already puts you way past the 1940 Soft Cap and ensures you’re ready for activities like the raid. If you’re having trouble, equip Getaway Artist for the Sentient Arc Soul on Warlock and use the Bleakwatcher Aspect when you get Prismatic. It makes most encounters a lot easier.

Pathfinder

Pathfinder is your new unified Bounty system across Ritual activities and the Pale Heart of the Traveller. Its objectives include completing Vanguard playlist activities, killing targets with a weapon type or damage, etc. The same applies in the Pale Heart, but you must participate in Overthrow. Once you complete five nodes, you’ll receive a Prime Engram, XP, Bright Dust and an Enhancement Prism.

Prime Engrams have a chance to drop from pretty much anything, but this is a guaranteed route (alongside Vendor rewards) towards additional Power. Once you complete five nodes and claim the Engram, you can reset the Pathfinder board to repeat the process. You can do this up to three times per week – after that, you’ll receive Enhancement Prisms for the next seven completions and then Enhancement Cores till the weekly reset.

Do Just About Anything

Before, only certain Ritual Activities would provide Powerful rewards, contributing loot with +1 Power for Infusion. However, these rewards now have a chance to drop in just about any activity. So hop into Overthrow, complete different activities and so on for a chance at the same.

Pinnacle Rewards

Pinnacle Rewards still exist, though, and they’re your ticket to hitting the 2000 Power cap. The Salvation’s Edge raid, Nightfall (though you need 200,000 Points), Dares of Eternity (also requiring 200,000 Points), Iron Banner and dungeons all provide the same. It’s best to reach 1990 Power first before tackling them to maximize the Power of their drops.

Level Up The Artifact

Last but not least, level up the Seasonal Artifact. Not only does it provide some powerful seasonal perks that can make you even more powerful (damage reduced while Amplified is a must), but grants +1 Power with every level. Complete all the different nodes in a Pathfinder board before resetting, pick up bounties from Ghost in The Pale Heart, and go rake in the XP.
