Bungie has been acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment and will be joining PlayStation Studios, though it will continue to operate autonomously. As such, nothing is changing with Destiny 2 or its next big expansion, The Witch Queen. In a recent tweet, the developer revealed that over one million players had pre-ordered the expansion till date.

In fact, it’s currently on track to be the most pre-ordered expansion in the game’s history. Considering that the Destiny franchise first began in September 2014 – with Destiny 2 launching in September 2017 – that’s pretty impressive. It makes even more sense why Sony would acquire the company, considering its own plans for live-service titles.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen launches on February 22nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. Along with new story missions and a new location, it also adds brand new features like weapon crafting while revamping the Void subclasses. For more information, head here.
