Destiny 2 Three of Coins Use Clarified, Currently Bugged for Heroic Strikes

Expect a hotfix for Three of Coins in Heroic Strikes in early 2018.

Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris_05

In other “What did Bungie mess up this time?” news for Destiny 2, the developer finally clarified how Three of Coins works in its shared world shooter. Introduced in the most recent update, Three of Coins was often used in Destiny 1 to increase the chance of Exotic drops. In Destiny 2, it grants a 50 percent increase to the base chance of earning an Exotic Engram for every activity.

However, if the base drop chance is so incredibly low, then Three of Coins won’t do much to up those chances. Hilariously enough, even if Exotics are now more rare, the quality of the items is not as good as Destiny 1. In fact, the Masterwork items are more worthwhile than Destiny 2’s Exotics (with a few exceptions).

As such, it doesn’t guarantee Exotic drops but Bungie did note that Heroic Strikes are currently not grating higher chances for Exotics to drop with Three of Coins compared to normal strikes. A hotfix for the same will be coming in early 2018. Thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments.
