Bungie will be deploying Destiny 2’s update 3.0.1 later today with maintenance starting at 7 AM PT and concluding around 10 AM PT. Along with the return of The Prophecy dungeon and Iron Banner, the patch will also add optimization for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 players. The download size is about 67 to 70 GB and requires re-downloading the whole game if you were playing before launch so take note.

PS4, Xbox One and PC players will have the usual 3 GB update so don’t worry. In terms of visual enhancements, Xbox Series X and PS5 players will have 4K support and 60 FPS performance (along with 120 Hz in the Crucible). Xbox Series S players get 1080p/60 FPS support. All versions include a field of view slider and faster load times.

It’s also worth noting that cross-gen multiplayer is already possible, though only among consoles of the same brand. True cross-platform play is currently planned for next year. For more details on today’s update, including the rewards that The Prophecy dungeon will provide, head here.
