Exotic vendor Xur has returned to The Rig on Titan in Bungie’s Destiny 2. While he’s selling at least one Forsaken Exotic, Xur possesses something of greater interest to Annual Pass owners – the first Invitation of the Nine. Called “The World”, it costs nine Legendary Shards and can be acquired until the weekly reset tomorrow.
“The World” requires defeating Fallen, Cabal, and Taken to gather “metaphysical samples”. After that, players must complete the Lake of Shadows Strike. This will lead to a lore cutscene featuring the Drifter and the Emissary of the Nine. No spoilers here, but if you care even the least bit about Destiny’s lore, it may be worth your while.
In terms of Exotics, there’s the Exotic hand cannon Crimson for 29 Legendary Shards, which heals on kills. Orpheus Rig (Hunter boots) and Wormgod Caress (Titan gloves) are previous Exotics available for 23 Legendary Shards each and are still very useful. The one new Exotic on sale is Chromatic Fire, a Warlock chest piece that causes elemental explosions on Kinetic weapon precision kills. However, the element will depend on your currently equipped subclass. It’s also available for 23 Legendary Shards.
