Destiny 2 The Dawning 2017

Following server maintenance and a hotfix that should re-enable access to Faction Rally and Iron Banner for non-DLC owners, Bungie has announced that Destiny 2’s The Dawning event will end on January 9th. Furthermore, it also announced that the game’s next big update would be revealed on January 11th in “This Week at Bungie”.

A “new season of rituals and rewards that will be available to all” is being teased. However, after the disastrous Dawning event – where the majority of content was locked behind the cash shop Eververse, players were unable to earn Dawning Engrams through leveling up and the high cost of items – it remains to be seen how Bungie will tackle its controversial revenue model. That’s not even taking into account how bad the Curse of Osiris DLC was.

Destiny 2 is due for another DLC pack later this year, which is rumoured to be releasing Spring. Not much is known about the DLC aside from Rasputin, the AI Warmind from the first game, possible being involved but stay tuned for more details.
