Destiny Animated Show Seems to be in the Works

It looks like Bungie is ready to move forward with its plans for expanding the Destiny IP to media outside of video games.

Destiny 2 Season of the Risen

Destiny is Bungie’s bread and butter, and even though the studio has a new IP in the works that it’s going to put its full weight behind, that doesn’t mean the Destiny train will be slowing down anytime soon. Destiny 2 is still going strong, but it seems Bungie is moving ahead with its plans to expand the franchise outside of video games as well.

A job listing at Bungie for the position of Senior Producer – Linear Media mentions that the company is looking to produce projects that will “extend the franchise into new categories including TV, films, books, comics and audio formats.” Interestingly, one of the requirements listed in the ad mentions “experience with licensed products, and/or animation”, suggesting that an animated TV series of Destiny might be in the works- or at least something Bungie is presently planning on making.

Earlier this year, Sony announced that it’ll be acquiring Bungie, and at the time Bungie CEO Pete Parsons said that the deal would help the developer become “a global multimedia entertainment company”, saying, “game worlds are only the beginning of what our IP will become.”
