Destiny

Bungie’s Destiny is now available worldwide and according to Activision, it’s been a stunning success, garnering $500 million in sales to retail stores and first parties. The game is such a tremendous success that Sterne Agee’s Arvind Bhatia believes it could be on track to sell as much as Call of Duty in its lifetime.

In a recent investors’ note, Bhatia noted that after speaking to GameStop executives, there is an “increased confidence” in Destiny selling 15 million units by the end of this year. Furthermore, lifetime sales could hit 20 million units, achieving “Call of Duty” levels due to the “optimistic feedback” from recent conversations.

Destiny is available on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4, and is already garnering a large well of gamers right out of the gate. Will there be enough content to sustain them throughout the year though? We’ll find out in the coming months so stay tuned for more.
