Activision is ramping up content plans for Bungie’s Destiny. During a recent earnings call, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg confirmed that there would be a major update coming to Destiny this Autumn and that it would be the biggest addition to the game’s universe yet.
“We have a very robust content plan for Destiny starting with our second major expansion pack, House of Wolves, and then you’ll also see content being dropped throughout the summer.
“And then in the fall we will have a major release, which will be the biggest addition to the Destiny universe yet, across all modes of play. Unfortunately, I don’t have more details than that today, but we’re confident it’s going to be incredibly appealing, not just to our current fans, but also to people who haven’t yet joined the Destiny universe; it’s going to be that big of an expansion.”
Yesterday, a trademark emerged for “The Taken King” filed by Bungie. Many have speculated this to be the Fall update in question, previously referred to as Plague of Darkness.
Meanwhile, House of Wolves will be releasing on May 19th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.
