Destiny The Taken King

Rejoice, fellow Destiny players – Bungie has answered your prayers and sent you a worthy present for Christmas and New Year’s. Hold on to your raid gear since these rewards should be available at your Postmaster from today onwards. Boom, 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light. You’re welcome.

What can these buy you? Well, the Strange Coins will allow you to buy one piece of Exotic Gear from Xur. The Motes of Light are good for levelling up gear and infusing Legendaries. That’s pretty much it. The “gift” seems more suited to new players than veterans because the Motes of Light are insufficient for levelling things like Exotic and raid gear while the Strange Coins can’t even buy an Exotic Primary weapon.

But hey, if you log into Destiny from January 7th to 10th, you’ll receive a special emblem which will be delivered on the 12th. We’re really reaching for positivity here but it’s not happening. Sorry, Guardians.
