Bungie held its live-stream to debut Destiny’s next big expansion Rise of Iron and despite numerous leaks over the past few days, it had a surprising amount of new information to reveal. The developer confirmed that Rise of Iron would be for PS4 and Xbox One only and also confirmed its price – $30, which is $10 less than The Taken King.

Rise of Iron will see players battle a new machine-based plague that the Iron Lords had sealed long ago but has now returned, mutating the Fallen into machines. Along with a new story campaign that takes you to Felwinter’s Peak to reclaim the Iron Lords’ shrine, you’ll venture to The Wall of the Cosmodrome and into the Plaguelands. New armour and gear was promised along with the appeal of becoming an Iron Lord yourself when everything is said and done.

The expansion releases on September 20th and pre-ordering it nets you a silver and black version of Gjallarhorn dubbed the Iron Gjallarhorn. We’ll find out in the coming months what Rise of Iron has in store so stay tuned.
