Destiny Sterling Treasures Loot Break Down Into Chroma

Forget about dismantling gear for Legendary Marks.

Destiny_April Update

Bungie has ruffled its fair share of feathers with the Destiny community thanks to the reveal of Sterling Treasures. Arriving with the April Update, these boxes contain guaranteed Legendary gear and random items like reputation boosters. Players can receive up to three each week or they can drop real money on Silver to purchase them from Eververse.

Obviously, there are issues with being able to purchase gear. Even if it drops at 3 Light and must be infused to be battle-worthy, there is still hullabaloo about being able to roll with the right perks and stats if enough money is spent. Thankfully, it seems the Sterling Treasure gear can’t be farmed for Legendary Marks.

According to the developer on Twitter, “This just in from the Design Team: Legendary Gear obtained from Sterling Treasure boxes will dismantle into Chroma – not Legendary Marks.”

Chroma is a new item which allows players to aid coloured highlights to their armour and weaponry. In this way at least Bungie is ensuring that players still have to play the game to pick up Legendary Marks.

What are your thoughts on Sterling Treasures in Destiny? Let us know in the comments as the April Update arrives on April 12th.
