Exhaustive Nerfs and Weapon Changes

We get it – The Last Word was glitched. Thorn’s “two-headshot-walk-away” approach was infuriating. Final Round on snipers had to be nerfed. But nerfing the damage done by Gjallarhorn? Reducing hand cannons overall to a fraction of their former glory? Changing Black Hammer and Ice Breaker? Reducing PvE damage of shotguns? Even if this was done to encourage different styles of play and newer weapons to rise to the occasion, it still rubs people the wrong way when you render their most powerful weapons – which they’ve spent hours grinding for – effectively pathetic even in the Year One content they’ve been left behind in.

And while auto rifles may have risen to prominence once more, it doesn’t wipe away the painful lows by way of nerfs they experienced in between. Hopefully the next several expansions will see less overhauls to weapons that work pretty well in the current climate. If nerfs are necessary for the sake of PvP, perhaps Bungie can do everyone else a favour and restrict these purely to PvP?

What do you feel Bungie’s Destiny should avoid or include in future expansions? Let us know in the comments.
