Destiny: Top 15 Things the Next Expansion Shouldn’t Have

There are plenty of things Bungie shouldn't have in future DLCs. Here are a few.

No In-Game LFG Options

When Destiny first launched, it was a rather curious beast. And by curious, we mean “frustratingly stupid in many design choices”. There was no in-game voice chat and no matchmaking options for end-game activities like raids, Nightfalls and Weekly Heroics. Thanks to several dedicated fans, options for finding Destiny players like Reddit’s Fireteams, DestinyLFG and The100.io have emerged. Still, even if people aren’t a fan of matchmaking for raids and such, it was surprising that Bungie didn’t even consider placing LFG options in the damn game.

This is still a problem that Destiny faces and it can become a pretty big hassle when you need to leave the game just to find people to play with. While some may not face issues in finding players – and services like Fireteams are fairly reliable when it comes to its player base – it wouldn’t hurt to have some kind of LFG option within the game itself. Is it so hard to implement? Bungie’s philosophy when it comes to Destiny seems to benefit groups of friends and clans that play often together.

What happens when your friends aren’t on? What if your friends are playing something else? What if you only have a few friends who don’t even play Destiny? What if you have no friends on Xbox Live and want to keep it that way? It’s amazing to think that Bungie hasn’t considered any of these realities up till now. The next expansion may fix that; heck, The Taken King has a couple of matchmaking options for end-game activities. But an in-game LFG option seems a ways off.
