Mix of mild positives and abject annoyance.

Destiny Iron Banner

Bungie’s community manager David “DeeJ” Dague revealed on the official forums that new matchmaking settings for Destiny were live for the Iron Banner. These are the same settings which put a greater emphasis on connection quality above skill.

“As you enter the clash to impress Lord Saladin, you’ll experience the same new-and-improved matchmaking settings that were present in Control over the weekend. Summary: The emphasis is focused on connection quality. There are still minimal filters in place to shield the casual from the hardcore. The technical quality of the match is our primary concern.

“Damage Referee is also online. Players with poor connections will not enjoy a tactical advantage – quite the opposite in fact.”

Fans are already reacting to the news with complaints of lag, red bar players, etc. One player posted a video of his being shot through a wall mid-Shadestep. Some players are facing many off the same issues as before but it’s noticeably better than in the past.
