Deus Ex Devs Responds To Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Trailer With Humorous Tweets

Executive Art Director of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided chimes in as well.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Following the release of the new Ember Trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, which heavily pointed the camera at real world human augmentation by way of prosthetics, cochlear implants, genetic engineering and wearable technology, the internet started to notice that this trailer looks an awful lot like something from the Deus Ex universe.

Apparently, Deus Ex developers Eidos Montreal also think that the new Treyarch shooter is taking a few leafs out of their book. Not too long after the trailer was released, alongside the tagline “How far would you go,” the official Deus Ex Twitter feed tweeted an image of an internet-cat staring in disbelief at a screen, before turning to the camera with a quizzical look upon its face. The joke being, the new Call of Duty all but copied and pasted the Deus Ex story.

Following this, Executive Art Director of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Jonathan Jacques-Belletête also sent a  humorous tweet in the direction of Treyarch, saying, “We lied guyz. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided actually takes place on the Eastern Front during World War 2. We felt inspire.”

Of course, it’s safe to assume that Treyarch did not ripped off Deus Ex and this is a mere coincidence.
