In 2011, Eidos Montreal rebooted the Deus Ex franchise in style with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The flawed masterpiece brought back the original game’s blend of stealth and action with a dash of RPG and its troubling cyberpunk universe back to life. Human Revolution was an undisputed success. So it should come as no surprise that it will be followed up with a sequel.

With Mankind Divided, it looks like Eidos Montreal are going big and they are delivering on the promise and potential that the franchise has held so far. Here are fifteen features in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided that you should know about.

SAVE FILES WILL NOT CARRY OVER

While Deus Ex: Human Revolution game with a story that progressed based on the choices you made throughout the game, its sequel, Mankind Divided will not allow players to import their save files. This is a tricky step by the developers, since Human Revolution had different endings that players could choose between, but they have come up with a canon that proves as a backdrop for Mankind Divided. According to this canon, there are conflicting reports about the Aug Incident – the climax of Human Revolution – and that no one really knows what exactly happened. It’ll be interesting to see how Mankind Divided handles this, especially considering the fact that the protagonists in both the games is the same- Adam Jensen.
