It was recently announced that Diablo 2 was getting the grand remaster treatment later this year with Resurrected. The game looks to recreate the original with a new coat of a paint, but still being largely familiar. It also seems as if there will be some alpha tests soon.
Speaking to PCGamesN, Lead Producer Chris Lena spoke about the game. There he confirmed that there were alphas tests being planned. One of those would focus specifically on the single player experience, while the other would serve as a stress test for the multiplayer, saying, “We’re going to start with a single-player technical alpha, and then we’ll have a second technical alpha after that, which is kind of multiplayer and stress testing.” Unfortunately, Lena gives no real specific time frame or whether it will come to consoles at all or remain PC only. Considering how the game is announced for this year, it should be relatively soon either way.
Diablo 2: Resurrected is planned to release in 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch and PC. We’ll keep you updated on when the alpha tests will go up.
