Diablo 3 Darkening of Tristam Event Returns, Relive The First Diablo

Prepare for a retro-infused experience as the annual event returns to Diablo 3.

It’s a new year and that means Diablo 3’s Darkening of Tristam event, which encompasses Diablo 1 remade as an entire dungeon, has returned. The event will be live for the entire month so hop in now if you’re interested.

The Darkening of Tristam features many of classic bosses and locations that defined the first title. However, that’s not all. The dungeon has a pixelated filter along with along other enhancements to make it decidedly retro. Even the sound effects, music and loot are straight out of the 90s. Completing the event has its share of other rewards like transmog skins for the old-school Butcher’s Cleaver, a new banner and new portrait frames. You can learn more about the event in this official post.

Diablo 3 is currently in somewhat of a weird stage with the latest balance patch expanding the number of builds that players can use but the demand for new content still being high. Blizzard promised some new information this year so stay tuned for any updates.
