Diablo 4’s beta starts this weekend for those who pre-ordered the title, while everyone else gets open beta access from March 24th to 26th. In an update to its guide, Blizzard Entertainment has provided more details on what to expect in the Fractured Peaks.

A snowy landscape with steppes and demons, Fractured Peaks is the first region players will explore. There’s Kyovashad, a city where players can upgrade health potions, acquire new gear and access the Stash. Main Questline markers will pop up as you pursue Lilith, the main antagonist, but there are also various Side Quests to complete.

These include the Altars of Lilith, which provides a permanent boost to the Core Stats of all characters, making it easier to level alts. You’ll also find World Events, which appear randomly and range from bringing a lost soul to its lover or satiating some obelisks (ideally with kills). While optional, they always offer rewards.

Legion Events are longer and present more of a challenge. While marked on the map, they can also appear once a Stronghold is liberated. Again, they’re optional but offer good rewards and can be replayed. While the amount of Dungeons wasn’t specified, there’s “no shortage” in the open beta, and they’re good for collecting gear.

Finally, there’s the World Boss – Ashava – available on March 18th and 25th at 10 AM, 12 PM, 10 PM and midnight PDT. Bring some friends or fight with other players because she’ll be tough to take down alone. Once defeated, a “sizeable loot drop” is provided.

Early access to the Diablo 4 beta begins on March 17th to 19th, but pre-loads start tomorrow at 9 PM PST. The game launches on June 6th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
