Blizzard Entertainment held the first Developer Update livestream for Diablo 4, offering more details on the upcoming open beta. It will be available to download early, and those with early access can try out three classes – the Barbarian, Rogue and Sorcerer. When the open beta is available for all players, the Druid and Necromancer will also be live.

You can create up to 10 characters per Battle.net account, and while progress transfers from early access to the regular open beta, characters will be deleted when the beta concludes. On consoles, couch co-op is supported, and only one player needs beta access. Four-player co-op is supported online, and everyone will need beta access (save for couch co-op players).

If you slay enemies near any player, five percent of bonus experience is awarded. Playing with party members grants ten percent bonus XP on slaying foes. In addition to exploring the Prologue and Act 1, there’s a giant world boss to tackle, providing a “sizeable loot drop.” Those who complete objectives during the open beta can earn two Titles and a cosmetic item for the full. These are as follows:

  • Initial Casualty Title: earned by reaching Kyovashad with one character.
  • Early Voyager Title: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
  • Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.

Early access for the Diablo 4 beta starts on March 17th at 9 AM PST and ends on March 20th at noon PST. The open beta is available for everyone from March 24th, 9 AM PST to March 27th, noon PST. The full game launches on June 6th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
