Spoiler-free reviews have gone live for Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4. Thus far, they’re pretty positive. On OpenCritic, it has 49 reviews with an average score of 89. Metacritic has it at an 88 Metascore based on 27 critic reviews, but that should change over time.

Thus far, there’s been praise for the end-game, progression and gameplay. GameSpot scored it an 8, with the characters, story and world map being noteworthy, while some standard dungeon boss fights and “visual limitations” highlighted while zooming in were criticized. IGN gave it a 9, criticizing the story and some bugs but still enjoying the presentation, gameplay and loot.

Fextralife scored it a 9.3, with the reviewer calling it their “favorite game of the year” and praising its “effectively limitless level of replayability.” It’s worth noting that multiplayer wasn’t enabled for some reviewers, so there aren’t many co-op impressions. Expect more details in the coming days.

Diablo 4 launches worldwide on June 6th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Early access starts on June 2nd for Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners.
