Rumours have been circulating for a while now that Blizzard could announce Diablo 4, the next sequel to its highly acclaimed action RPG series, and that this announcement may be at Blizzcon 2016 in November. While there hasn’t been much concrete evidence of the same, there are a few smidgens of information here and there that continue to tease players.

Take, for instance, news that David Brevik and Bill Roper were spotted at Blizzard California earlier this month. While Brevik served as project lead for Diablo 2, Roper was its senior producer. The latter is also Blizzard North’s former president.

Furthermore, Roper tweeted: “For 20 years, Diablo-like games have evolved & surprised us. I’m proud to be the adviser for the game that pushes this genre to new heights.” An image of the Libra star sign was also posted.

Again, none of this is confirmation and it’s worth taking with a grain of salt. But in combination with everything else – including former World of Warcraft director Tom Chilton leaving to work on an undisclosed Blizzard project – one has to think that something is up. Stay tuned for more information when Blizzcon 2016 rolls around
