DICE lead designer believes slow CPU will hurt Wii U in the long run

He makes sense.

Reports have been surfacing recently that the Wii U has a slow, crippled CPU. and developers have been criticizing it too. DICE’s lead designer, Gustav Halling also feels that this slow CPU, which he believes is not just a vapor rumour, might hurt the Wii U in the long run.

“I don’t actually know what makes it slow, but enough “tech” people I trust in world are saying the same things,” he said on Twitter. “GPU and ram is nice to have shaders/textures loaded. Physics and gameplay run on CPU mostly so player count is affected etc.”

He also believes this might hurt the Wii U when other next gen systems, like the PS4 and Xbox 720 come out with better specs. “his is also what I been hearing within the industry, too bad since it will shorten its life a lot when new gen. starts.”
