The unique take on the franchise won't be out this year after all.

Digimon-Survive

Digimon Survive looks to be one of the most ambitious and interesting takes on a multimedia franchise we’ve seen in quite some time. It’s a game that has a mixture of several different genres from RPGs to visual novels, and was said to have significant branching paths including the death of major characters. You can read more about it here. The game was slated to come out this year, but we haven’t heard much about it. Now, it seems we know why as it will be pushed back.

At a “Future of Digimon” panel at this year’s Anime Expo, the series publisher and developer Bandai Namco made the official announcement that we won’t see Survive until next year. Despite that, an anime styled opening was shown, but no footage has been uploaded anywhere yet. The reason for the delay wasn’t given, but it’s a crowded year so it may be in the game’s best interest.

Digimon Survive will release sometime in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
