Directive 8020

Supermassive Games’ Directive 8020, its upcoming sci-fi horror game, received a new trailer, which showcases the terrors befalling the colony ship Cassiopeia. Check it out below.

The story follows a hostile alien organism which can shapeshift, thus transforming into any of the crew members. Deciding who is human can be almost impossible, undoubtedly leading to tragedies. However, Supermassive has introduced a new mechanic called Turning Points. It essentially lets you go back and change decisions, resulting in different outcomes.

This is ideal for gathering collectibles, and just like the developer’s previous titles, there are numerous branching paths and endings. You can track all the choices and paths, but if you’re keen on committing to decisions, switch to Survival Mode, which turns off Turning Points. The results of decisions can still be viewed, though.

Directive 8020 launches on October 2nd for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
