Nippon Ichi Software’s Disgaea franchise might not be the most high profile role playing seris out there, but across multiple instalments and a very particular blend of strategy gameplay mechanics, it’s garnered a solid fanbase for itself. Soon, that fanbase will be treated to the next mainline instalment in the series, and NIS have released a new trailer to provide an overview of what to expect from it.
The trailer, at over 6 minutes is length, is a pretty meat one, and covers quite a bit. It’s in Japanese, so you might not understand what’s being said, but it shows a lot of gameplay footage for you to peruse, showcasing the combat and the improvements Disgaea 6 is making to the series’ trademark tactical gameplay. Check it out below.
Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is due out in Japan on January 28, 2021 for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Outside of Japan, it will launch in Summer, and curiously enough, will be releasing only for the Switch.
