Nippon Ichi Software has always been known for its avant garde RPGs. But Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is still fairly noteworthy with its story of the zombie Zed and how he ultimately defeats the God of Destruction. Check out the latest trailer for a quick glimpse.
Essentially, Zed has relied on a technique called Super Reincarnation which allows the user to live their life multiple times over until their wish has been fulfilled. How Super Reincarnation will work in the gameplay remains to be seen but perhaps it has to do with the max level cap being level 9999. The trailer also highlights the title’s admittedly clean, fully 3D visuals.
For new players, Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny will also sport options like Retry, Replay and Auto to dial down the difficulty of some battles. The strategy RPG is out on January 28th 2021 for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan but will release worldwide exclusively on the Switch in Summer 2021.
