Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness Recieves A Striking Launch Trailer

Disgaea D2 hits shelves today.

Earlier today developers Nippon Ichi Software released the launch trailer for their latest installment in the Disgaea series, Disgaea Dimension 2, or, Disgaea D2. The game is a tactical RPG, and acts as a sequel to the last entry in the Disgaea series way back in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.

Disgae D2 takes place in The Netherworld, which is a fickle realm. People’s worth are judged by their abilities, and one never knows who their true friends are. Our protagonist, Lahari, after a very long journey, has finally achieved the status of Overlord of The Netherworld.

Unfortunately the other Netherworld residents don’t share this sentiment, and do not give him the respect his lofty position deserves. And so Lahari sets off on a quest with his friends to earn the respect of his people. Along the way Larahi and his crew will face monsters, family and betrayal.

Disgaea D2 releases today in North America exclusively for PlayStation 3.
