Divinity Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition

Larian Studios’ critically acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin 2 will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One in August. However, it will launch as the Definitive Edition and sure enough, the developer confirmed that this would be a free update to existing PC owners. What will it change though?

Speaking to PC Gamer, publisher Bandai Namco revealed that the third chapter will be overhauled. One would assume this to be Act 3, which faced some criticism for not having as many side quests or intriguing stories as Act 1 and 2. Regardless, this will be rewritten, rescripted and feature updated characters.

The journal will also be receiving a rewrite while the new Party Inventory system will let players sift through the entire party’s inventory at once rather than individual screens. Players will also be able to place markers on the map which should be great for co-op.

Other new features include a new tutorial, PvP arena update, a new difficulty for Story Mode and “Sir Lorna the Squirrel” DLC which includes a squirrel having an existential crisis. The DLC will also be free to PC owners.
