DmC: Devil May Cry Combat Overview Showcases the Basics

Which aren't as basic as they seem.

Capcom released a new video for their upcoming reboot DmC: Devil May Cry, which showcases some of the fundamental aspects of combat in the Ninja Theory-developed action game due to release on January 15th, 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3. The video is the first part in the “Combat Overview” series, and looks at the various combos and attacks Dante can chain together to not only decimate enemies but to do so with style.

Because like in the other Devil May Cry games, your style of play affects your overall Rank. This rank lets you garner red orbs to upgrade your powers, purchase items and whatnot.

In the video, you’ll also see several of Dante’s weapons at work including the scythe Osiris that can attack in circular motions and split apart to draw enemies to you; the Arbiter, which acts as a two handed axe; and good ol’ Rebellion, which can be used to pull off some classic Devil May Cry combos. You also have a shotgun and twin pistols, dubbed “Ebony” and “Ivory” for dealing ranged damage. Check it out above.
