Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Bananza looks to be a packed solo experience, but as revealed in the latest Direct, it also supports co-op. A second player can use a Joy-Con 2 controller and play as Pauline, unleashing vocal blasts. You can even copy surrounding terrain to change its damage type.

But that’s not all. Alongside local play, you can GameShare with another Switch 2 and have another player join in using a single copy of the game. GameChat can also be used to invite online players to join in on the fun.

Like Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Bananza includes an Assist Mode. It will guide players and reduce all incoming damage by half. Perhaps even more interesting is DK Artist, a separate mode where you can use mouse controls to carve stone. You can paint, add materials, adjust the lighting, and more to create some rather incredible things.

Donkey Kong Bananza is available on July 17th for the Nintendo Switch 2. Head here to learn more about the new Bananza Powers, or check out the various outfits and side activities.
