After years and years of stunted development, id Software’s Doom 4 – now simply titled Doom – re-emerged as beta access was offered to those who pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order. While news on the multiplayer beta is still to be revealed, it seems that Doom will be making an appearance at this year’s QuakeCon.

Yes, QuakeCon is some how still a thing. No, we don’t know how (or for how long).

Those who attend QuakeCon will receive an exclusive sneak peek at Doom as part of the Annual Welcome presentation. id Software revealed that it will be showing more of the game at a latter date but that it couldn’t resist showcasing something to those who supported the franchise over the years.

QuakeCon 2014 will be happening on July 17th to 20th in Dallas, Texas. Will you be attending the convention? What are your thoughts on Doom? Let us know in the comments below.
