One of the biggest surprises of Nintendo’s previous Nintendo Direct was the confirmation that Bethesda and id Software’s reboot of the classic FPS franchise DOOM would also be hitting Nintendo’s Switch. Since its announcement, people have been excited to see more of the game, and learn more technical details about it- here is a current generation AAA game, and one that is quite a graphical wonder, and it is being put on Switch. How exactly would that work?

As it turns out, it seems to be working pretty well. Below you can see the very first screenshots (direct feed) of the game running on Switch in handheld mode, courtesy of VG247 . It looks astoundingly good for a handheld, and given the Switch hardware- it might just be the best looking handheld game ever made, actually.

Naturally, it is a step down from the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions- but that was to be expected. Given how great it manages to look regardless, this is truly a feat. DOOM on Nintendo Switch is due out later this year.
