Dragon Age Series Creative Director Says “Something is Happening”

Dev team is "hiring a lot of people".

Dragon Age Inquisition The Descent

As if the pre-E3 confirmation wasn’t enough, Dragon Age series creative director Mike Laidlaw recently said on The 1099 podcast that “something is happening with Dragon Age.”

Laidlaw also noted that the development team behind Dragon Age is currently “hiring a lot of people.” He also added, “As I’ve jokingly said, I am the creative director for the Dragon Age franchise and they haven’t fired me yet.”

Regardless of how you look at it, Bioware is definitely working on some kind of follow-up to acclaimed fantasy RPG series. Teases have been happening for months and Sunless Sea creator Alexis Kennedy outright confirmed in May that he’s working on Dragon Age, crafting lore that “has not been addressed much to date.”

Whether that’s Dragon Age 4 and what state the development is currently in are unknown. We do know that Bioware Edmonton is busy with Anthem, an online action adventure title that will release in Fall 2018 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned for more updates on Dragon Age in the coming months.
