BioWare has stressed on multiple occasions just how heavily it’s emphasizing Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s role-playing systems, from its choice and consequence mechanics to the build variety it looks to be encouraging with its progression and customization mechanics. Part of that is, of course, going to be the gear that players will equip their party members with, and more details were recently shared on that front, courtesy of a recent Discord Q&A (via @shinobi on Twitter).

Specifically, BioWare has confirmed that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature faction-specific gear- that is, certain gear pieces and equipment tied to certain factions, more of which will become available as you help the tied factions more and more. Such armour will, as you might imagine, also tout appearance themed around their faction. As previously confirmed, a full transmog system is also going to be included, while the game will also have character-specific and class-specific armour.

Additionally, BioWare has also shed light on some of the UI customization options players will have access to in its upcoming fantasy RPG. That will include enemies’ health bars, damage numbers, incoming attack indicators, quest markers, the minimap, and more.

The developer has also confirmed that though Dragon Age: The Veiguard is going to be a mission-based and largely linear game, it will feature several large and open areas for players to explore, too. Read more on that through here.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on October 31 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Check out the PC version’s unique features and system requirements through here and here.
