In the lead up to the launch of the CyberConnect2-developed action RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotpublishers Bandai Namco have been releasing plenty of new trailers and videos for the game, explaining various facets of its gameplay. Recently, they shared a video explaining the game’s progression mechanics. Now in a new video, they move on to Soul Emblems and community boards.

Soul Emblems, divided across friendship and proficiency, are objects that you can collect in the game. Using Soul Emblems powers up characters, providing them with various skills. By setting up these Soul Emblems on community boards – which you get from various scattered throughout the game, and which each entail different sets of abilities – you get even more bonuses, such as stat buffs, special abilities, and more. Check it out below.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is due out in less than a week, on January 17, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The is reportedly (at least) 35-40 hours long.
