Game Overview:
Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake is a role-playing game developed by Artdink and Team Asano, and published by Square Enix.
It is a combined, ground-up remake of the original Dragon Quest and its sequel, developed using the HD-2D visual style first introduced with Octopath Traveler in 2018.
Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake launches in 2025, with the original titles serving as the chronological sequels to Dragon Quest 3.
Square Enix has confirmed that Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake will launch next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
A recent, long overdue update for the game revealed that it will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
LIVE A LIVE and Dragon Quest 3 are both in line for full-blown HD-2D remakes, but there might be more in the pipeline beyond those two.
Though it's not official yet, series creator Yuji Horii says Square Enix could also remake the first two games in the series in the HD-2D style.
