Dragon Quest 11 New Trailers Show Off 3DS and PS4 Versions

Glorious.

Square Enix’s Dragon Quest 11 will be launching on the PS4 and Nintendo 3DS this July in Japan- and the two versions will basically be entirely different games based on the same central story. If you’re curious about how the two different versions will be like, the good news is that these new trailers released by Square Enix will show you.

Both versions of the game follow the same story- but the PS4 version of the game is a fully made in Unreal Engine 4, while the 3DS version is a glorious homage to the series, delivering a full 3D game on one screen, and a sprite based 2D experience simultaneously on the other.

Both versions launch at once on July 29 in Japan (a western release has not yet been acknowledged, let alone confirmed). Dragon Quest 11 is also due out on the Nintendo Switch, but as of right now, that’s as far as Square is willing to talk about that version.
