Dragon Quest 11 S Is Confirmed For Jump Fiesta

Maybe, at long last, we will finally see the very first gameplay footage of the game.

Dragon Quest 11 S

The Switch version of Dragon Quest 11 has been long in the coming—for those of you who have long memories, you may remember that it was actually the very first game ever announced for the Nintendo Switch, back when we all knew it as the NX. However, for whatever reason, the game hasn’t surfaced on Nintendo’s hit system yet, and only recently did we get an update on its status from Square (the update was just a new name and a new logo, but we’ll take what we can get).

However, we might get another update on the game sooner than anyone would have expected. Square Enix has confirmed on its website that it will be holding a stage event for the game for Jump Fiesta later this month. Jump Fiesta is an event Square holds to showcase its games annually in Japan (think of it as their own BlizzCon).

While they haven’t confirmed a playable demo, or anything beyond a stage event for it, yet, the fact that they are having a whole event for it in the first place does seem to indicate that they may have some substantial news to share. I will hope that said news includes our first look at the game running on the Switch—but who knows with Square Enix, really.

Dragon Quest 11 is out now on PS4 and PC. If you don’t want to wait for the Switch version, get it now, because it really is quite a great game.
