dragon quest 7 reimagined

Square Enix kicked off the latest State of Play with a new trailer for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, a remake of the classic role-playing game. It showcases the main cast and confirms that Kiefer – no, not that one – is in the game. Once rescued, he’s more than happy to join the fight against the Demon King.

We also get a look at the revamped visuals, which give a diorama-like appeal. The development team isn’t looking to change everything about the original, but there will be a new ending that takes your choices throughout the game into account. Not a bad incentive to replay.

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined launches on February 5th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and PS5. While you wait, check out our review for Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake, which overhauls the first two games in the series with gorgeous HD-2D visuals.
