In Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, gear crafting is not immediately available as a menu choice with Hal the Blacksmith in the Norgandian Settlement. You must first complete a short fetch side quest for him, titled ‘Hammer And Tongs’.

Unlock The Quest
Once you arrive at the settlement, simply speak with Hal the Blacksmith at his forge and be given the side quest. It is a relatively simple fetch request for Winterweed Blossom from a location marked on the map.
Where To Find Winterweed Blossom
The Abandoned Village you will arrive at is barred to entry from the outside, so circle around the perimeter while proceeding northwards. Look for a pole to go down, and then head left to gain access to the Abandoned Village.
Battle your way through enemies, and be on the lookout for a blue glowing, which is what makes the Winterweed Blossom stand out. Retrieve some and return to Hal to hand it in.
Once the dialogue reaches its conclusion, you will have completed this side quest and received:
- Snowoak Bark
- Azure Ore
- 6,000 XP
